Saturday I got a call from Grams saying she would be stopping by my brother's (Chris) house on Sunday morning to teach him how to make homemade gravy and I was invited. I can honestly say with no, well maybe a little, bias that my Grams is the best cook. I didn't say the healthiest, but definitely the best. Everything from apple pie to chile rellenos, my Grams knows her way around a kitchen.
So as you can tell it was an easy decision for me come Sunday morning. I packed up the camera and headed over to my brother's house to watch him attempt to make homemade gravy. I've assisted numerous times, but I've never made it on my own. (Too much grease.)
These are my instructions:

Step one: Fry up some greasy pork coated in flour. It can be bacon, sausage, pork chops, etc.

Step two: Remove the greasy meat but leave the grease and "drippings" (gross).
Slowly add flour until it gets thick.

Step 3: Be sure to keep stirring the floury grease dripping mixture so it doesn't burn.

Step 4: Brown the floury grease dripping mixture. It's ideal to use a whisk, not a fork.

Step 5: Ask Grams to slowly pour in the milk while you continue stiring the mixture which is starting to look like gravy. Gravy will thicken as it heats up.
Step 6: Cover gravy over greasy pork and biscuits and enjoy. I did not take a photo here because I was too busy eating.
