One month old

I asked Kit how many months old she was today and this was her response ...

She's a baby genius.

Lately

Kit is now three weeks old! I can't believe it. She has already changed so much. For one, she's so much bigger. She is also more aware of her surroundings and is really holding her head up quite a bit. We are falling into a little routine at home. She still eats about every three hours during the day but at night I will let her go as long as she can without eating which is anywhere from 3-5 hours. During the day we have playtime after she eats. This usually entails mom talking to Kit and playing on the floor. Then, about an hour later she goes down and sleeps for a couple hours. During the night she almost always goes right back to sleep after she eats. Yes, I know how lucky I am and I thank God for such a good baby. Ryan got to feed her for the first time yesterday as we introduced a bottle to her. She took it like a champ.

Every day I make it a point to do my hair, put on make up and leave the house. Kit and I have frequented such establishments as Target, the United States post office and the bank to name a few. Everything has to be done with very strategic planning. This has helped keep Kit on a consistent schedule and it's kept me from going crazy. We've also been able to go for a walk almost every day. We both love it but the dogs get sad that they don't get to come.

I absolutely love staying home with Kit. This is such a precious time and I am so thankful that I get to spend it with her. However, I have a hard time sitting still. I walk around the house looking for things to do. There are only so many loads of laundry and beds to be made everyday.

What I want to remember about Kit at 3 weeks old:
  1. You only cry when you're tired or hungry.
  2. You make the funniest expressions after you eat.
  3. You get the hiccups a lot but you don't spit up.
  4. You like to poop in your "poopin' swing."
  5. You poop a lot.
  6. You're already out of newborn clothes and in size 1 diapers.
  7. You love looking around and playing on the floor.
  8. You love hanging out on mommy's tummy and holding your head up.
  9. Your feet are too big for all your feety jammies.
  10. You don't mind being swaddled but I better not put your arms in there.
