We went to Trinity this evening to celebrate the Fourth of July with our dear friends and small group. The festivities began at 6:30 p.m. and we were prepared for a hot one. The church provided hot dogs, cotton candy and watermelon. Each of us brought drinks and snacks as well. We packed up the gazebo (which the guys couldn't figure out how to put up), chairs, a quilt, sunscreen, drinks and snacks.
We did not plan on staying to see the fireworks because they started more than two hours after Kit's bedtime. But by the time 9 p.m. rolled around, we figured we had made it this long and decided to stick it out. Kit did fantastic - other than running around like crazy. But isn't that what a 15 month old is supposed to do? The evening turned out quite nice with a light breeze. We had so much fun hanging out with our friends and watching the fireworks. Kit would point and go, "OOOOOHHH." Everyone laughed. I'm thankful we decided to stick around and watch the fireworks.
