Fourth of July (on the third)

We went to Trinity this evening to celebrate the Fourth of July with our dear friends and small group. The festivities began at 6:30 p.m. and we were prepared for a hot one. The church provided hot dogs, cotton candy and watermelon. Each of us brought drinks and snacks as well. We packed up the gazebo (which the guys couldn't figure out how to put up), chairs, a quilt, sunscreen, drinks and snacks.

We did not plan on staying to see the fireworks because they started more than two hours after Kit's bedtime. But by the time 9 p.m. rolled around, we figured we had made it this long and decided to stick it out. Kit did fantastic - other than running around like crazy. But isn't that what a 15 month old is supposed to do? The evening turned out quite nice with a light breeze. We had so much fun hanging out with our friends and watching the fireworks. Kit would point and go, "OOOOOHHH." Everyone laughed. I'm thankful we decided to stick around and watch the fireworks.

Backyard Pool Party

Kit's little $5 pool has been a great investment. About every other night we get out her pool and let her swim. A little after 7 p.m., just enough of the backyard is in the shade so she doesn't have to be in the sun. It's so nice! She loves getting in and out - in and out. Then she'll run over to her swingset, swing for a while and then run back to her pool.

*Disclaimer - She is just wearing a swim diaper. We're in our backyard so I do not feel the need to put her in a swimsuit.

Dax and Darbi like the pool, too. I have to keep Dax from jumping in.

This is the face she makes when she's bouncing on her knees splashing.
Notice her pink wagon? She likes to drag it around.

Mischevious.

My beautiful, blue-eyed healthy baby girl. What more could I ask for?
Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Shortly after I took this, her other top middle tooth finally broke through. I'm going to miss this snaggle tooth smile.

She may look like her daddy, but she's got mommy's personality.
